WNBA and Unrivaled star Angel Reese

After finishing her debut season in the WNBA, Angel Reese is now playing in the first season of the upstart Unrivaled League. In the midst of all this, she has also become one of the most popular women’s athletes in the nation.

Before entering the draft, many had question marks about her play. But once she landed in the WNBA, her consistent double doubles saw her breaking records. Then she finished the season as the league’s leading rebounder at a pace that had not been seen before.

Now, all those inhibitions have disappeared as she became a force to be reckoned with. Then in the offseason, she built on those performances and became a household name as she made forays into fashion and modeling.

All of that resulted in massive endorsement deals with major corporations that latched on to that enormous fame. Now as fans see more and more of her, a reporter at the Unrivaled League post-game press conference asked Angel Reese what it felt to become an inspiration to young girls.

Super inspiring. For me, to keep going, it’s hard. To live my life isn’t easy. I don’t want to get emotional, but that’s why I put in the work every day. There are little girls that look up to me. And just being an inspiration every day. That’s why I just try to keep going through all the negativity. At 22, its hard living this life, but I’m grateful, I’m blessed.

Angel Reese was emotional when she replied to this question. She held back her tears but could not manage to continue smiling from time to time. The superstar understood that she has come a long way in life.

Angel Reese dominates Unrivaled while setting new record

In the first half of the Unrivaled League’s first season, Angel Reese and her Rose BC struggled to win games. Many pointed to her lackluster play as one of the reasons for their struggles. But overall, it was the lack of chemistry that was their undoing.

By the time the season resumed after the 1v1 tournament, the team had already won two games. Today, they notched their fourth win in a row. To help them to the win, Angel Rese notched 22 points, 21 rebounds, 2 assists and a block and a steal.

This standout overall performance saw Reese and her team stop the Lunar Owls’ unbeaten run. She also notched the first 20-20 performance in league history. All that despite being blocked several times by the WNBA’s Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier.

With this win, Rose BC hold on to third place in the overall standings. If they can continue to win games, they could earn a spot in the semifinals in March. If Reese and her team do finish the season on a high, it will help dispel notions that she did not work on her game this offseason.
