In Short
  • Angel Reese featured on the cover of Vogue Australia while promoting her signature Reebok AR1 shoes.
  • She became the first professional athlete to model for a top magazine in her own signature sneakers.
  • Reese is recognized for successfully balancing her athletic career with brand collaborations and fashion ventures.

Angel Reese has been on a tear building her brand ever since she burst onto the scene as a bona fide superstar in the world of women’s basketball.

Even though some believe that the LSU alum initiating her trash talk with Caitlin Clark helped her become an overnight star, it is still difficult to maintain and then build on it.

Even though others have tried and failed, Reese has gone from strength to strength and is now the most popular women’s basketball star on social media.

All those millions of fans she has garnered over the years have become one of the reasons the world’s top brands want to associate with her.

Be it Victoria’s Secret or Chanel’s shows in New York, the Maryland native is now associated with those brands and is doing things that professional athletes could only dream of.

While on a trip to Australia to promote her signature shoe, the Reebok AR1, Angel Reese met with WNBL, the Australian women’s basketball league, and convinced them to use Reebok as their official sneaker brand.

She also joined the Brisbane Bullets’ ownership group, and collectively, that effort garnered enough interest for Vogue Australia to decide to feature her on their cover.

By doing so, Reese became the first professional athlete to model for a top magazine while wearing her signature AR1 sneakers. No other athlete has managed to get magazines to agree to that.

Their cover photo of her wearing a ruffled white top, her braids piled into a high bun, and a pair of her “Navy Halo” signature AR1 sneakers has since gone viral.

Angel Reese dismisses notion that pro athletes cannot have multiple careers

During her shoot with Vogue Australia, the magazine decided to conduct long-form and short interviews with Angel Reese. On one of the shorter ones, they asked her to name one misconception about professional athletes.

The one misconception about professional athletes is knowing that you can maximize your 24 hours. You can do everything that you need to do. You can work out in the morning, you can do a fashion show, you can go shopping, you can sleep… Everybody has the same 24 hours. It’s about what you do with them.

Angel Reese said

The 6’3″ forward made it clear that just because one is a professional athlete, it does not mean that all they can do is work out and play their respective sport.

If they learn how to maximize their time, just as she and rival Caitlin Clark have proved how to do it, anyone can, and they can bear the fruits of their efforts.

Angel Reese might be an anomaly, as women’s basketball stars are not known to work this hard. However, her legacy so far has been one who goes and gets whatever she wants to do.

Megan Thee Stallion has high praise for Angel Reese

During her associations with various brands and their respective events, Angel Reese has done a good job of meeting new people and making some of them her close friends.

I feel like everybody knows Angel Reese is my girl, that’s my twin. She is also a girl who always has the collabs going on. Always working. To be so athletic and so focused on her craft, she definitely still has an incredible work ethic off the court.

Megan Thee Stallion told USA Today Sports

This was Megan Thee Stallion, with whom the Chicago Sky star shared the stage at the Met Gala. For someone who is dating an NBA star, this was high praise from the rapper, as she knows how hard it is to play the sport and also build a brand in the world of fashion.
