Angel Reese‘s podcast Unapologetically Angel has quickly garnered a spot as a fan favorite majorly for the diverse guest list. From celebrities to iconic athletes, the WNBA star has done it all before bringing out a special attendee, her mom. Angel Webb Reese shared a moment from the Sky star’s childhood that has left fans in splits.
Angel Reese’s mom appeared on the latest installment of her podcast which was shot on her birthday. The two discussed various things including the WNBA star’s fame and basketball career. In one of the segments of the episode, Angel Webb Reese narrated an incident from Reese’s childhood where she gave up.
Not as it sounds, the hysterical moment happened in the middle of the track the basketball star was supposed to compete on. The mom of the 22-year-old recalled how Reese was tired of the long schedules in track and walked out in the middle of the race.
You just dropped out in the middle of the race. You were like, ‘I am done with this Mom.‘

The fans were glad the Chicago Sky 7th pick quit track that gave her leeway to enter the court. Angel Reese has been making waves ever since she entered the WNBA in 2024. Despite an abrupt finish to her rookie reason, she managed to break records and establish herself as an entity. Apart from the court, Reese has managed to gain several high-end brand deals, McDonald’s being her latest.

Angel Reese does all that apart from giving her best on the court. Notably, her knack for the sport comes from her family. Previously, she shared that she looked up to her mother and grandmother, both basketball players, for inspiration. Additionally, her brother, Julian Reese, also plays for the University of Maryland Athletics.
Angel Reese’s biggest inspiration is her mom
Angel Reese’s achievements can be backtracked to her days as an LSU athlete. Way before entering the WNBA, she received recognition in the 2023 Final Four Most Outstanding Player and BET Sportswoman of the Year. Additionally, she played a huge role in LSU’s championship victory.

In a conversation about basketball and her career, Angel Reese revealed her source of motivation. Crediting her achievements to this one person, she called her mom her “rock”. Reese expressed how she had her mother’s support all the way in her journey.
The 22-year-old looked up to her mother who did a lot for her and her brother as a single mother. As early as a four-year-old, Reese used to attend her mom’s games in the league. Previously, she also revealed that her interest in the sport was piqued because of her mother.
