When a team loses its previous five games, it is bound to leave its fans high and dry. Even more so when the team, such as the New York Jets, boasts the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams, and other stars. Then, to make things worse, the team struggles through the first half of Week 8’s Monday Night Football game.

The home game meant ardent New York Jets fans lined up at MetLife Stadium with hopes of watching a turnaround. They kept their patience despite watching Aaron Rodgers struggling to get the offense going in the first quarter. They were at least happy that the defense kept the game in check as the Houston Texans struggled to score as well.

But then, the visitors showed patience as they chewed eight minutes off the clock and finally scored a touchdown. The Jets had the time to reply as the offense was seen talking a lot to coaches. However, it was not to be, as they again could not muster anything on two drives. At this point, chants were being heard throughout MetLife Stadium as the fans loudly roared.

Sell the team, sell the team.

Their frustrations were understandable as the fabled offense featuring some of the best in the game could not do much. If not for a missed field goal, the New York Jets would have been down 10-0 at the half. Quite a miserable first half of the game knowing those fans spent a lot of money to come and watch their team play.

Then the second half started and the team suddenly showed that the fans need not leave the game early. To start was the one-handed touchdown grab and run for Garrett Wilson. The defense then did their part in stopping the Houston Texans from scoring anything more than a field goal.

On the next drive, Aaron Rodgers again threw it to Garrett Wilson. This time, the catch, the highlight play of the game and possibly the catch of the season so far, turned the momentum. With the Jets leading, the pressure was now on the Texans.

On their next drive, they showed that the pressure got to them as they missed another field goal after not being able to score a touchdown. Rodgers and his teammates figured out that the game had tilted and on the next play proceeded to ice the game.

This time though, it was the new signing Davante Adams’ turn. The star veteran left his defender puzzled and streaked away to catch the pass from his close friend. Then Davante Adams proceeded to turn on the Jets and run into the end zone to score his first TD as a Jets player.

Then it was back to the defense, who arguably should be the MVP of the game. They sacked CJ Stroud seven times and stopped the high-flying Texans en route to a famous 21-13 win. Now the fans should be optimistic with their upcoming schedule.
