Anthony Davis corrects Mavericks blunder on introductory poster after blockbuster trade
New Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis calls out the team's major Instagram blunder.
Anthony Davis
The Dallas Mavericks have had a rough stretch on Instagram. After trading Luka Doncic to the Lakers for Anthony Davis, they initially restricted comments on their farewell post. Since the trade, they’ve lost nearly 700,000 followers.
The Mavericks eagerly welcomed Anthony Davis on Tuesday after their blockbuster trade, but their social media team slipped up. In their Instagram post, they mistakenly labeled him a nine-time All-Star instead of ten, including this season. Davis himself quickly set the record straight with a comment under the post.

In this case, the error is perfectly comprehensible and, in one sense, even accurate. In actuality, Davis has only participated in nine All-Star Games thus far. He’s not incorrect to claim that he’s a 10-time All-Star, though, as his selection for the 10th All-Star game of his career has already been revealed. In addition, the 31-year-old Davis was in his 13th overall as a professional and his sixth season with the Lakers.
His average stats for each game are 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.1 blocks. The Mavericks are currently 3.5 games behind the Lakers, who are in fifth place. Also, in the Western Conference rankings, the Mavs are in eighth place. As they seek for an extended run into the playoffs, it is hoped that this deal will enable them to move higher after the All-Star break.
Shaquille O’Neal’s bold claim regarding Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade
The Dallas Mavericks’ deal of top star Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers as a trade for Anthony Davis is still being processed by the NBA community. NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal has joined the debate. He praised the Mavericks as the deal’s beneficiary. This was even though the majority of experts have expressed a diplomatic view of the trade that does not favor any party.
"For the next 2 years, I think Dallas won that trade." 👀

As for Doncic, he will play with Lakers great LeBron James on the court in black and gold. Watching the two generations of talent play together and score points against their rivals would be an amazing sight for the spectators.
Doncic is anticipated to make his court comeback shortly. But he is still recuperating from the calf injury he sustained in December 2024.
