Over the past 10 months, Anthony Davis has had to reshuffle his life after he was traded away to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Luka Doncic.
The 6′ 10″ star did not believe that the Los Angeles Lakers would give up on him, and has given enough hints about how much that trade impacted him.
But as a professional, he cannot do anything but keep his emotions in check, suit up to play for the Mavericks, and fight for a championship with his new teammates.
However, health has not been his best friend. His battles with his injuries have led to fans seeing him wearing casuals more than his No. 3 Mavericks jersey.
Now, after his latest injury setback, the one that former GM Nico Harrison wanted to fast-track him back, the former Kentucky star is set to return.
They have two back-to-back games in Los Angeles, which was Anthony Davis’ home for nearly 6 years. While meeting reporters, one of them asked him if he’d prefer to play against the Lakers or wait another day and return against the Clippers.
That’s a real question? You know what game I want to play. But we’ll see. We’ll have a conversation. See what makes the most sense with the medical staff and coaching staff. No decision has been made.

The 32-year-old, who won his only NBA championship to date with the Lakers, clearly has circled November 28th as the day he returns to face the team that did not want him around anymore.
Anthony Davis addresses trade rumors
Even though he is focused on suiting up for the Dallas Mavericks and playing against former teammate LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony Davis knows he has been the subject of trade rumors.

Man, look. Y’all make it like we’re going to war or something. This is basketball. It comes with it… That doesn’t affect me. I’ve been in trade talks for a while. My job is to do what I do when I’m on the floor, play basketball, and try to lead this team. Whatever comes out of that, comes out of that.
Anthony Davis told reporters
The former No. 1 overall pick was candid in acknowledging that he has been a part of such trade rumors for a while. Since he cannot control those rumors or have a say in the outcome, he prefers not to bother about them.
Anthony Davis was asked about his name being involved in trade rumors:

The only thing he can do is to play basketball and keep proving his worth. Even after that, if the Mavericks decided to send him to another team, he would be fine with it.
Anthony Davis talks about former GM Nico Harrison
After talking about the game against the Lakers and the trade rumors, Dallas Morning News reporter Mike Curtis asked Anthony Davis for a reaction to the recent firing of GM Nico Harrison.
It was surprising, more than anything. Nico’s my guy. He played a huge part in getting me here and wanting me to fulfill his vision that he saw. It was definitely tough. Me and him had a conversation. Me and Patrick (Dumont) had a conversation. It’s the business of basketball.
Anthony Davis replied
The Chicago native’s answer indicates that he had bought into Harrison’s vision. However, things change in basketball, and he has accepted whatever has happened.

Now, he is conversing with team governor Patrick Dumont as the Mavericks continue to fight through the season. Against the hot-handed Lakers, Davis and his teammates will be looking to find a way to win.
