Tonight marks the first time the Los Angeles Lakers have been to the Intuit Dome, the home arena of their local rivals. The Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers used to share the Crypto.com Arena from 1999 to 2024. Given that, the Lakers fell 102-116 to the Clippers, a club they used to refer to as their ‘little brothers.’ Notably, Lakers star Anthony Davis had a poor showing against the Clippers.
This is because Davis‘ meager 16 points (5–14 FG), 10 rebounds, and three blocks were disappointing. Not only that, he was also trolled by the Clippers fans mid-game while he was taking a free-throw. In a viral video posted on X, Clippers fans can be spotted giving Anthony Davis the ‘unibrow shaving treatment’ on the big screen in the Intuit Dome.
Regarding the matchup, LeBron James and Rui Hachimura were the two players who produced for the Lakers. Hachimura finished with 19 points (9-14 FG) and seven rebounds, while LeBron finished with 25 points (9-20 FG), five rebounds, eleven assists, and three steals. Meanwhile, Austin Reaves scored a 14 points (4-6 FG) in the loss.

As for the Clippers, Ivica Zubac had an almost 20-20 game with 21 points (9-16 FG), 19 rebounds, and three blocks, while Norman Powell led them in scoring with 22 points (9-17 FG). With 21 points (7-19 FG) and 11 assists, James Harden recorded a double-double, while Kawhi Leonard finished with 19 points (9-13 FG).

This is Redick’s first year as Lakers head coach. With the victory, the Clippers increased their lead on the No. 5 spot and improved to 24-17 on the season, while the Lakers maintained their position as the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 22-18 record. Up next, the Lakers will face the Washington Wizards on home court.
