In a story that shook the basketball world, LeBron James found himself at the center of trade rumors last year. One such speculation involved a potential deal that would have sent him to the Golden State Warriors. Speaking about the rumors, Anthony Davis revealed that it was a strange occurrence considering the career history of James.
It was reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne that the Warriors proposed a trade for James in February after the trade deadline. However, it didn’t come to pass as Rich Paul strongly opposed the deal. James would have teamed up with his longtime rival, Stephen Curry, had the trade gone through.
I heard about… it was national news. But I don’t think it affected anybody. I mean… think that might be the first time ever he was in trade talks in his career. He’s kind of seen everything, so I don’t think that affected him, it didn’t affect our team. But it was definitely strange to hear in a sense of like, it was the first time he’s ever been talked about in a trade before.

While they couldn’t be NBA teammates, they both teamed up for the first time at the Paris Olympics. They ended up securing a gold medal. LeBron James enjoyed playing alongside Stephen Curry, a player he has faced as a rival for over a decade.

It was a strange last season for LeBron James to find himself involved in trade rumors. The Golden State Warriors reportedly approached the Los Angeles Lakers before the February trade deadline with a proposal to pair veterans James and Curry. James enjoyed playing alongside Curry, and he had time to talk about it when he addressed the media.
I have idea. It was everything and more. I was super excited to be able to finally team up with him in a win-or-die type atmosphere. That’s what it was, being a part of the Olympics… was everything that I dreamed of and aspired to want to be a part of that team, along with Steph. Great memories. Something that I’ll remember from my basketball career for the rest of my life, for sure.
