Anthony Edwards sends clear message to LeBron James after physical battle: “You ain’t just gonna push us”
Anthony Edwards’ 43-point explosion powered Minnesota’s 116-113 Game 4 win, pushing the Lakers to the brink of elimination after a disastrous fourth quarter.

Anthony Edwards and LeBron James
The Minnesota Timberwolves are not a franchise that is going to back down so easily. They showed their resilience again in Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Target Center. Led by star Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves stunned the NBA community by pulling off a massive Game 4 win against the Lakers, going 3-1 up in the ongoing series.
Containing the likes of LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves is not an easy task for any team, let alone the Timberwolves. However, Edwards and Co. managed to do this not once but thrice already this post-season.
After the game, Edwards was asked about facing James on the floor in an interview with the media. James received a strong message from the Timberwolves star regarding the physical aspect of this matchup. Edwards intended for James and the Lakers to understand that the Wolves will never give up.
Just letting him know that we’re here. You ain’t just gonna push us around all night. Just trying to be a pest to him out there.

Throughout the game, Edwards was spotted ‘pushing’ the Lakers great, something that James often does to his opponents. It’s safe to say that James got a taste of his own medicine at the Target Center. Mostly because Edwards’ character and mentality are similar to NBA greats like James, the great Michael Jordan, and the late Kobe Bryant.
He is not one to back down, no matter who his opponent is. Edwards displayed one of his best games on Sunday. Going toe-to-toe with LeBron James throughout the game, the three-time All-Star exploded for a game-high 43 points, five triples, nine rebounds, six assists, a block, and just one turnover.
Anthony Edwards made NBA Playoff history in Game 4 win
Not many would have expected the Timberwolves to lead the series 3-1 by the end of Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers. However, that is the reality, with Wolves’ star Anthony Edwards bringing out his killer instinct on Sunday at the Target Center.
He shot 12/23 from the field and 5/10 from the three-point range. Notably, Edwards also created NBA history. He became the youngest player in the NBA playoffs to reach 100 career three pointers.

Edwards is now regarded by many as one of the NBA’s top ten players. He shot 44.7% from the field and 39.5% from three-point range in 79 games, finishing his fifth regular season with figures of 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He is showing no signs of stopping in the playoffs either, dropping important performances for his side in the process.
Anthony Edwards’s hilarious reaction to his teammate Mike Conley’s block on LeBron James
One of the most exciting moments in Game 4 involved two of the NBA’s most seasoned players: Lakers star LeBron James and Timberwolves veteran point guard Mike Conley Jr. It appeared as though James, 40, would receive an easy, unchallenged bucket when he caught a lob ball in front of the rim.
Conley, a lefty who is 37 years old, had other ideas, though, as he managed to stop James’ shot from close range with his off-hand. Notably, Conley’s younger teammate and star Anthony Edwards chimed in with his hilarious take on this epic moment.
Man, did you see that? I was like ‘alright, old man’. Nah, that was dope.

Conley had two assists, a rebound, and the amazing shot rejection on James, but he only managed two points on 1-for-5 shooting from the field. Also, he missed all four of his efforts from beyond the arc in Minnesota’s 116-113 victory in Game 4. But the win is all that matters for the Wolves going into Game 5 of this series.
