Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards daps up referee during game 2 of their playoff series against the Phoenix Suns

Anthony Edwards and his Minnesota Timberwolves won against the Phoenix Suns today in game 2 of their playoff series. Despite not scoring enough by his lofty standards, the young superstar did use his elite athletic ability to block an easy layup. With the ball out of bounds, Edwards moved to inbound the ball, only for him to dap up the referee in the process. Fans noticing this exchange have come out to call the game rigged.

The video shows Bradley Beal driving for a layup after the ball was poked out of Jusuf Nurkic’s hands. Anthony Edwards noticed this and leaped to block the attempt, only for the ball to go out of bounds. Since Beal had the last touch, the referee indicated for the Timberwolves to inbound the ball. Edwards walks to the sideline and daps up the referee’s outstretched hand.

On first glance it does seem that the Edwards dapped up the referee. However, it could have been that the referee was simply suggesting Edwards to move to a spot to inbound the ball. After all, the game was in favor of the Minnesota Timberwolves at that point.
