Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves showed no mercy on the reigning champions as they destroyed the Denver Nuggets at their home on Monday night. The NBA world went into a frenzy as the Timberwolves handed the Nuggets their first consecutive home loss since 2021. With their sheer dominance in the first half, T-Wolves have taken the 2-0 lead before they head home.

Missing a big defensive player was not a problem for the Minnesota Timberwolves, as they did not leave a chance to the Nuggets with their whopping 26-point lead at halftime. After that, it was almost impossible for the Denver Nuggets to redeem themselves and come back in the game. Anthony Edwards again electrified the fans with his performance, but more so with his Michael Jordan shrug celebration early in the 4th quarter.

The Nuggets were shooting significantly poorly, especially former MVP Nikola Jokic and the team’s offensive pillar Jamal Murray credited to the Timberwolves’ defense. Ant-Man and Karl-Anthony Towns‘ score of 27 points apiece was perfectly balanced as KAT took care of the first half while Edwards started showing up in the second.

Timberwolves made history as their 2-0 consecutive lead in the back-to-back series is their first in the franchise. The team is now undefeated with their 6th win in a row in the playoffs and they did it with holding down the Nuggets at 80 points, the fewest the team has scored this season.

It was a frustrating game for the Nuggets as they got embarrassed at the Ball Arena. The few Timberwolves fans were enough to upset the Nuggets as they had to hear MVP chants for Edwards and ‘Timberwolves in 4’ chants at home.

The Nuggets did not seem worried after the loss in the first game, but now the circumstances have changed drastically.
