Only a week ago, Netflix dropped the teaser for the documentary series, ‘Starting 5’ featuring Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, Domantas Sabonis, and Jayson Tatum. The aforementioned stars descended the red carpet for the 10-part documentary series’ premiere. One of the lead runners of the series however was met with trolls for his casual fashion choice.

The Netflix series doesn’t only focus on the NBA stars’ basketball careers but also gives the fans an insight into their families. On 23rd September, Butler, Edwards, James, Sabonis, and Tatum took to Los Angeles for the premiere of the sports series. While all the protagonists donned their crispiest attires for the event, fans noted Edwards’ contrastingly casual outfit. The Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard wore a grey hoodie with black sweatpants with a matching cap and shoes.

Tatum wore a beige monochromatic outfit over a black tank while Butler chose an all-black fit. James went semi-casual with a denim jacket over grey pants and a black shirt. Sabonis wore a grey monochrome over a white t-shirt. The internet did not let Ant-Man’s fashion choice slide as the Twitterverse was flooded with comments on Edward’s outfit.

From critiques to eerie relatability to hilarious points of view, the comments section had it all. The fans noted the stark contradiction in the shooting guard’s outfit to that of the other NBA players.

Anthony Edwards has previously worked with LeBron James for a short role on Netflix’s movie Hustle. This series, however, will follow Edwards along his rapid rise in the NBA. The 10-part series divided into 45-minute episodes will primarily provide a behind-the-scenes look at the 2023-24 NBA season through the lens of the big five.

Twitter reacts to Anthony Edward

The Netflix premiere for the documentary series ‘Starting 5’ was a well-received affair. However, in a room studded with NBA elites, give it to Ant-Man to draw attention to himself. Some of the comments on Netflix’s post from the premiere joked about Sabonis being there. Which, a user on X directed their attention to Edwards needing a stylist. Meanwhile, another one praised Tatum’s stylist in contrast.

The Timberwolves player managed to have people talk about him besides four other NBA’s best. The cast of the documentary has made the fans eagerly wait for the show’s arrival. The much-awaited sports series will be available on Netflix from October 9th. The series comes as a spin-off to Netflix’s well-received movies, ‘Quarterback’ and ‘Receiver’.
