Anthony Edwards has two-word NSFW response to ‘too many 3s’ criticism
Anthony Edwards had some harsh words in the locker room after questions about his 3-point shooting, following their 116-119 win over the Nuggets.
Anthony Edwards against Nuggets
Anthony Edwards is already positioning himself to be the next face of the league. The Minnesota Timberwolves superstar has already become a fan favorite across the NBA. On Friday night, AntMan led the Timberwolves to victory over the Denver Nuggets and reigning MVP Nikola Jokic. However, after the game, Edwards had some choice words about questions regarding his shot diet.
Anthony Edwards scored his 29 points from all around the floor. However, his increased 3-point shooting volume has been questioned by fans and analysts in the league.
Following a night where Edwards shot 7-14 from deep, he was asked about concerns regarding him attempting ‘too many 3s.’ AntMan immediately fired back at the reporter with a short not so sweet response.

Many have questioned the reason behind the increased 3-point volume in Anthony Edwards’ game this season. Edwards has been touted as a slasher adding rim pressure throughout his career. However, after a number of major roster changes over the offseason, Edwards has relied on his outside shot heavily to begin the season.
Through the first five games of 2024-25, Edwards has attempted over 13 three-pointers per game. He has been scorching hot from downtown, shooting over 43% on 5.8 makes per game. These number are a drastic jump compared to his 35.7% shooting on nearly 7 3-point attempts per game last season. Perhaps spending time with Stephen Curry at the Olympics has worked well for Ant.
Anthony Edwards joins exclusive record club with Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry is seen as the face of the 3-point revolution in the NBA over the last decade. Given Anthony Edwards’ sudden surge in shooting volume, it feels only fitting for the Timberwolves superstar to join the record books with Curry.
Edwards has started this season with five or more threes made across all five games. He joins Curry and Charlotte Hornets legend Kemba Walker as the only player to score five or more threes in three or more consecutive games to start an NBA season. Edwards’ shooting jump has allowed him to enter rarified air this season.
If he continues to shoot with this ridiculous volume and efficiency, who knows, Anthony Edwards might even be set to break Stephen Curry’s all-time record for most three-pointers made in a season.
Curry set the record with 402 threes in his unanimous MVP season in 2015-16. At his current pace, Edwards could surpass that number in a full regular season.
