The OKC Thunder won the 2025 NBA title in style, beating the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals series. They overcame top sides on their road to the title. One of them was the Minnesota Timberwolves, who defeated both the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers to face off against the Thunder.

The Timberwolves eventually lost against the Thunder. Now, most recently, the sixth and last installment of Anthony Edwards‘ “Year Five” YouTube series was made available on Thursday by his production team. New footage of Edwards’ response to the Timberwolves’ 4-1 defeat to the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals is included in the five-minute movie.

One such film has gone viral after being shared on X by the Legion Hoops account.

Season five over with. Got my a** whooped. KFC, UFC, USC, OKC in five. I ain’t gon’ make no excuses. They put belt to a**, I can’t be mad at that, right? S***, man, win or lose, I’m still gon’ talk my s***. You gotta win like a boss and lose like a boss.

Fans did not waste much time after coming across Edwards’ humble nature. They took to their socials to put forward their views on this matter. One thing is certain: Edwards will be back stronger after his recent setback this past season.

Like he usually does, Edwards accepted the Thunder’s victory, which was the Wolves’ second straight WCF loss. During his post-Game 5 press conference, he stated that he was not upset by the defeat and promised to return the following year.

Playing for USA Basketball in the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Edwards has been with the team for the past two summers. He will have more time to train for the forthcoming NBA season this summer as he won’t have any such commitments.

Anthony Edwards made his intentions clear after the Wolves’ new ownership takeover

The Minnesota Timberwolves were fighting many battles this season, on and off the court. From trading their star man, Karl-Anthony Towns, to the NY Knicks, new ownership takeover issues, and their bid to win the 2025 NBA title. In 2021, former Wolves owner Glen Taylor consented to give Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore control of the team for $1.5 billion.

Following that, a series of difficult battles with the parties concerned ensued. However, the Timberwolves started emphasizing Rodriguez and Lore on the team’s social media once the NBA Board of Governors formally approved the team’s sale this week. In response to the news, Anthony Edwards sent a two-word remark that summed up his feelings on the Wolves franchise.

Congrats Sac (an acronym meaning ‘Solid as Concrete’).

Anthony Edwards responded with the following caption after posting a picture of the new owners on his Instagram story

As long as the Timberwolves are competitive, Edwards’ endorsement of the new ownership is encouraging for his future in Minnesota. Broadcaster Michael Grady spoke with Lore and Rodriguez to discuss their plans for the franchise. It’s safe to say that the new ownership has high goals set for the Wolves’ franchise.

The Wolves’ new ownership made a clear promise to their fanbase

More than four years after the agreement was reached, the NBA approved Tuesday the $1.5 billion transfer of the Minnesota Timberwolves from Glen Taylor to an investor group headed by former baseball star Alex Rodriguez and e-commerce entrepreneur Marc Lore. The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx’s new owners are now pledging their allegiance to the state.

We are not moving the team ever.

Marc Lore said

When you look at it, we’re the second oldest arena after Madison Square Garden, so it’s something that Marc and I’s been in our vision from Day 1.

Alex Rodriguez added

2 things are clear from these remarks: the Timberwolves are not moving their location to any different area; instead, they are here to stay. In addition, they may also build a new arena for the players and fans for a wholesome experience in the coming years. It remains to be seen how this situation unfolds in the coming months.
