Anthony Edwards’ NSFW tirade at Lakers fans has NBA twitter fuming: “Top notch professionalism”
Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards has been doing it all while going up against the Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs.

Anthony Edwards sends NSFW words towards Los Angeles Lakers fan
Anthony Edwards is well known for how he conducts himself both on and off the court. The Minnesota Timberwolves superstar knows how the expectations are being placed on him now that the league seemingly wants him to be their next face of the NBA.
Heading into this season, some had doubts if the 23-year-old had regressed. The Timberwolves’ early season struggles seemed to give further proof to that idea. However, he was not bothered and mocked those suggestions.
After the second half of the season started, both Edwards’ and his team’s performance changed for the better. They put together a string of wins and started to show how they can play winning basketball. That late charge culminated in a playoff berth where they would not face the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ahead of the first game, Anthony Edwards started to play with words, and he agreed that the home team were favorites. That seemed to help him as the Wolves ran the Lakers ragged in their arena. His confidence was sky high as he did not back down from taking a shot at fans. One of them behind the scorer’s table was apparently taunting Rudy Gobert. To this Edwards replied.
He got $200 million.
Anthony Edwards said
Then the fan tried to get back at Ant by asking where his kids were. Edwards now clenched his crotch and said.
My d**k bigger than yours.

Anthony Edwards vs Lakers fans is why we love the NBA Playoffs pic.twitter.com/3EPc4ACuDe
The Minnesota Timberwolves star repeated this NSFW rant quite a few times and in front of women seated behind the scorer’s table. Maybe he did not care who was in front of him and wanted to end up winning the back-and-forth with the fan.
Fans slam Anthony Edwards for using profanity
Barstool Sports first uploaded this clip on social media platforms. Since then, they have garnered enough traction, and fans have differing opinions on how Anthony Edwards handled his interaction with that Los Angeles Lakers fan.
But most of them are geared towards how the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar should not have gone to that extent. They believe he does not have the media training or maturity to avoid going to the extent of having to talk about his private parts. Social media is flooded with such comments, examples of which are below.
Top notch professionalism

Such an asset for the brand of the NBA and a great role model for kids. 🙄

You have to be better than that young man. Too many young children look up to you regardless if you want to be a role model or not. @theantedwards_

Anthony Edwards could have stuck to just standing up for Rudy Gobert. But fans know that some players can be pushed over the edge. Russell Westbrook has had numerous such run ins. But he has not used profanity or anything that would directly insult the fan.
Will Wolves star face NBA’s wrath?
Anthony Edwards will again face the same Los Angeles Lakers fans tomorrow in game 2 of the 1st round playoff series. He might again come face-to-face with those same fans. They might again try to push him over the edge.
How he manages the situation could either help or deter him. The NBA does not tolerate players from engaging in heated battles with fans. They do not want a repeat of ‘The Malice in the Palace’. They have a code of conduct in place, but they cannot control every aspect of what is being said.
In this scenario, the fans did not seem to say anything with profanity. Else security could have intervened. But security cannot do anything regarding players. Since footage of this is generally reviewed by the league, it will not be a long shot to think they might have had some conversations with the 23-year-old superstar.
After all, the league has to ensure he keeps his cool. Such profanity laced comments will only go on to hurt his image and that of the league. Therefore, there is a chance the NBA might ask him to keep a tight leash on his words.
