The Golden State Warriors faced an in-form Minnesota Timberwolves side in the NBA on Friday night. The only positive for the Warriors was the return of their stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green in the match. This is because they lost against the Timberwolves and their star man Anthony Edwards by 90-107 at the Chase Center.

Curry and Green missed their previous match due to injuries but returned to the starting lineup for this match. However, they could not get their side a much-needed win. Timberwolves’ Edwards starred for his side and led all the scorers. Edwards had 30 points and nine assists, dropping a whopping performance on the Warriors in the first of two games between the teams this weekend.

Not only that, but after the game Edwards opened up on his performance. He also hilariously revealed he and Stephen Curry had ‘trash-talked’ .

On the night, Wolves’ Rudy Gobert finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds, as all their five starters concluded in double figures. Off the bench, Naz Reid contributed nine points and ten rebounds. Conversely, the Warriors were restricted to 39 percent shooting, including 28 percent from beyond the arc by Wolves. Despite shooting only 6-for-17 from the floor, Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 23 points.

As for the Warriors, they are now on a 13-9 run in the West in the NBA, sitting at 5th position on the table. Six of the Warriors’ last seven games have now ended in defeat. On Sunday, the same two teams will play each other in California.

The Minnesota Timberwolves can fight for a title this season thanks to their big three of Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, and Anthony Edwards. However, it is Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, and Naz Reid who will help them develop into a consistent contender. Regarding the ‘perimeter defender,’ Edwards made a bold statement about his teammate, Jaden McDaniels.

To me, Jaden McDaniels is probably the best perimeter defender in the NBA right now! and that’s all I can say.

Along with Edwards and McDaniels, Reid is also a consistent defender in the Timberwolves side. Reid is 25 years old, while Edwards and McDaniels are 23. Reid’s current deal with the team extends for two more seasons, until 2025–2026, while Edwards and McDaniels are committed through the 2028–2029 campaign. The three are undoubtedly Minnesota’s core group of young players for the future.
