Charles Barkley and Anthony Edwards

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been performing a bit differently than last year. Edwards has raised his three-point shooting average this season to 10.0 three’s per game. Last season, the young star was averaging 6 three’s per game. However, former NBA player Charles Barkley has criticized the Timberwolves star for his game this season, stating has Edwards has ‘regressed.’

Despite his excellent three-point shooting this season, Barkley claimed that Edwards had regressed by attacking less. He said that Edwards needs to develop his leadership skills because he is not Michael Jordan. Edwards studied Barkley’s comments and explained what he believes to be fair and what isn’t in the first part of a five-part series that he broadcast on his YouTube channel.

I f*ck with the end part. Like comparing me to MJ and all that. I don’t like that either, and I f*ck with the part where he said I got to learn how to be a leader. I f*ck with those two things, but all other sh*t, he be tripping. Them n***as just be up there talking, man. I’m making these shots, so I don’t know how I regress if I’m making. I don’t get it.

According to Edwards, Charles Barkley and the TNT crew’s feedback are sometimes valid. However, at other times, he doesn’t think they’re fair. Ultimately, Edwards didn’t appear very concerned with the opinions of others regarding his performance this season. Not only that, Edwards’ views also give us a broader viewpoint of what the other NBA stars may be thinking about the TNT crew.

In addition, Edwards has upped his game for his side this season. In 52 games, he is averaging 27.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists. These are the best numbers he has recorded in the NBA ever since he made his debut.

Despite his performances, the Timberwolves have been mediocre this season. This is mostly due to the departure of their former star, Karl-Anthony Towns, increasing the burden on Edwards. Now, Edwards is tasked with carrying his side to the NBA Playoffs this season.

Anthony Edwards opened up on ‘lessons learnt’ from NBA superstars

At the young age of 23, guard Anthony Edwards has already won an Olympic gold medal, and been named a three-time NBA All-Star. NBA legends LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant were in the same locker room as Edwards at the Olympics. Edwards discussed the lessons he learned from his Olympic experience in a comprehensive interview with Complex Magazine.

I think the biggest thing I learned from all three of them is they don’t change their routine no matter what’s going on in their day. Especially Steph and LeBron, whatever they do on every game day, they doing that. Every time.

This year, after finishing fourth in the guards’ voting, Edwards was selected to his third successive All-Star Game. With a 30-24 record, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound guard has the Timberwolves in seventh place in the Western Conference standings. It remains to be seen whether or not Edwards and his team secures a Playoff berth for his side this season.
