Anthony Edwards will ‘COOK’ Ja Morant if he encounters 1v1 matchup
Anthony Edwards in his usual fashion, confidently boasts that he can take down Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant.
Anthony Edwards claims he can best Ja Morant one-on-one
It’s fair to say that last season was a good one for Anthony Edwards as he solidified himself as one of the NBA’s top young stars when he led his team to the conference finals. However, in a typical Ant-Man style, he caused a frenzy when he took a jab at Memphis Grizzlies star, Ja Morant.
Anthony Edwards has carved a reputation for being too outspoken which has made him a fan favorite. And this attitude was on full display during a Thursday interview with actor Chris Tucker on Interview Magazine, where he was asked about a hypothetical one-on-one matchup with Ja Morant.

It’s quite difficult to choose between Edwards and Morant as they are both loved by their respective fan base as well as being hyper-athletic guards known for their highlight-reel plays. Although, this won’t be the first time Ant-Man has backed himself, with the famous Olympic team statement still fresh.
However, there’s a little hiccup as Morant faced an injury scare after he left Monday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks twice with an ankle injury. An MRI revealed a mild sprain, but fans felt relieved when Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins revealed that he expects him to be ready for the season opener in two weeks.
Anthony Edwards dismisses the notion of Jayson Tatum being the league’s best player
Aside from Ja Morant’s jab, fans will recall the moment that the Minnesota Timberwolves handed the Boston Celtics their first loss of the 2023-24 season. That led Anthony Edwards to make some pointed remarks aimed at Jayson Tatum.
It was revealed during an episode of Netflix’s Starting 5 documentary. In the scene, he is overheard dissing JT while he shares his excitement with teammates in the locker room.
“You seen Tatum trying to get me on the switch, locked his ass up 2 times. Tatum was talking crazy, saying, ‘Yeah, I’m here,’ then I said, ‘I’m coming again.’ Talking ‘bout best player in the league, y’all trippin’.”

Some fans might say that Edwards had every reason to celebrate after he had an impressive performance during the game. He scored 38 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out seven assists to secure a 114-109 victory over an undefeated Celtics team.
