Thursday hit hard for the New York Yankees as they not only won the series against the Kansas City Royals with a 3-1 record but also re-ignited their old rivalry from the late 1970s. An almost full-blown brawl took place between them as both teams fought for their playoff dreams.
During the sixth inning Royals third baseman Maikel Garcia slid hard into Yanks shortstop Anthony Volpe in an attempt to give his team a much-needed boost. Following his failed attempt, Volpe patted his back and moved on, but things started to heat up with Jazz Chisholm Jr. marching towards him.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Miakel Garcia exchanged a few words and within seconds benched cleared as the players ran towards the field in an attempt to get a part in the melee. However, it was reported that no fists were thrown.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. on Maikel Garcia’s slide: “I just felt like he tried to go and injure Volpe because he was being a sore loser. He was talking a lot on Instagram and Twitter and stuff. I do the same thing, but I'm not gonna go and try and injure somebody if they're winning a…
