Antonio Brown earned a massive sum while playing in the NFL and won the Super Bowl playing alongside Tom Brady. Naturally, one should strive to save most of it if their playing career will most likely not work out for long. However, it seems Brown owes eight creditors nearly $3 million as revealed from his bankruptcy filing.
As uncovered by Tyler Webb, Brown would have wound up with $50-60 million after paying taxes. In January 2020, the Super Bowl champion was ordered to pay $1.2 million to a driver of a moving company for assault and battery. Then in 2021, he was sued by KBC Marketing for failing to pay the $2 million he owed his agent.
Then his infamous tenure as part owner of the Albany Empire led to failed payments to players, coaches, and staff. He was also ordered by a judge to pay $1.1 million to a jeweler for not paying for two diamond fingers he had loaned.
These are just the court-issued orders. Other than this, he also owes credit card debt and other fees he owes to various people and establishments. This is other than the multiple arrests he has faced for failing child support payments.
Brown filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 15th. Though he formally announced it through his network recently, this bankruptcy will allow him to rearrange his finances without the creditors hounding him. But it is a sad state for a player who once signed on to one of the best contracts for a football player.
Antonio Brown’s post-NFL life has been nothing short of chaotic
Antonio Brown stepped out of football in the most bizarre way, leaving his then-team Tampa Bay Buccaneers high and dry while they were still going through an offensive drive on the field. Since then, the wide receiver has been trying to stay relevant in the public.

But as the NFL world stopped interest in him, he began to display erratic behavior to gain attention. That led to the creation of the CTESPN network, which has at best created a lot of questionable content. More importantly, he has constantly taken shots at those who are in the news. Trying to get his name alongside whatever is trending at the moment.
But all that has had a detrimental effect on the former wideout as more and more people, including Tom Brady, started to distance themselves from him. Now, with this bankruptcy announcement, it could get worse.
