Virat Kohli‘s wife Anushka Sharma had a disappointing reaction to Shreyas Iyer‘s dropped catch, during India’s Champions Trophy final encounter against New Zealand. Iyer dropped Kiwi opener Rachin Ravindra‘s catch, despite having made a stunning effort.

India and New Zealand faced each other in the 2025 Champions Trophy final, at the Dubai International Stadium. It marked India’s fifth CT final appearance, after having previously made it to the summit clash in 2000, 2002, 2013 and 2017. The Kiwis meanwhile, were playing their third Champions Trophy final. India defeated Australia to make it to the final, while New Zealand beat South Africa in the semi-final.

As New Zealand opted to bat first, Anuskha Sharma, present in the stands, once again caught the internet by fire with her reactions. The Bollywood actress had a disappointing look on her face, as she sltuctehd her fists in anger, while Shreyas Iyer dropped Rachin Ravindra‘s catch at deep mid-wicket, off Varun Chakravarthy‘s delivery. Iyer did make a superb effort, running towards his right with outstretched hands.

Rachin Ravindra looked dangerous in the early overs of the match, as he reached an individual score of 37 runs off just 29 balls, striking four boundaries and a six. While it seemed that Shreyas Iyer’s dropped catch might have cost India the match, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Ravindra soon after. The Kiwi batter was deceived with a googly, as the ball sharply went past the inside edge to crash into the stumps.

Nonetheless, despite the early setbacks, New Zealand went on to post a competitive total of 251 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Daryl Mitchell top-scored with 63 runs off 101 deliveries, while Michael Bracewell added another 53 runs on the board. However, it was not enough after India chased it down with an over and four wickets to spare.

Veteran Indian batter Virat Kohli shared a heart-warming moment with his wife Anushka Sharma, ahead of the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand. Anushka Sharma was seen cheering for her husband, from the stands of the Dubai International Stadium.

Virat and Anushka stole the spotlight, as the couple exchanged waves just before the match. A viral social media post captured Kohli, while engaged in a discussion with his teammates, glancing towards the stands, where his wife was seated. He immediately waved towards Anushka, who excitedly responded to Kohli’s gesture by waving back towards him.

Meanwhile, Anuskha Sharma had previously grabbed headlines for her surprising reaction to Virat Kohli’s wicket, during India’s group stage encounter against New Zealand. She held her head with her hands, as Glenn Phillips took a fabulous catch.
