Arman Tsarukyan has a smarter game plan than Justin Gaethje when if he has to deal with Max Holloway. The Hawaiian BMF champion received a top-ten ranking in the UFC lightweight division. As such, other lightweight contenders have started to focus on a future potential matchup against Holloway.

In an interview with a Russian journalist, Arman Tsarukyan discussed Max Holloway and his BMF title fight at UFC 300. A hypothetical inquiry on fighting Holloway was posed to Tsarukyan as the ‘Blessed’ eyes the lightweight title. Tsarukyan joked that instead of going all out in the closing moments. The fighter would prefer his wrestling to submit Holloway rather than trying his luck with a buzzer-beater knockout.

I would lie to him and just shoot a takedown.

Many fight fans have already deemed the last ten seconds between Holloway and Gaethje as an iconic moment in UFC history. Despite being up in the score, Holloway’s all-out effort demonstrated why he deserved the BMF title. From Gaethje’s perspective, he was losing the fight on the scorecard. As such, he aimed for a ‘Hail Mary’ with that sequence.

The last ten seconds of the BMF title bout and the finish is something most UFC fighters do not want to engage. As such, Tsarukyan felt it was better to stick to the strengths rather than risk it all and lose. The Armenian fighter fought on the same fight card and won a split decision against Charles Oliveira. As such, he will likely fight for the title next.

Jorge Masvidal wouldn’t blame Arman Tsarukyan for not preferring to accept Max Holloway’s last-second invitation to brawl

Jorge Masvidal was head over heels for Max Holloway’s BMF title fight at UFC 300. The stellar performance from the opening bell to the last will remain an iconic performance in history. The inaugural BMF title holder respected Holloway for understanding the essence of the title and putting on a show.

However, like Arman Tsarukyan, Masvidal also doesn’t think throwing hands against Holloway at the last moment is a good idea. Masvidal jokingly asked fighters to run rather than engage Holloway in that situation.

When that dude points to the ground, whoever the f*** you are, you become an Olympic track sprinter. Do the opposite. Don’t f***ing engage... [Max Holloway] is all fighter's favorite fighter.

According to the ‘Gamebred,’ Holloway is everyone’s favorite and has earned it by continuously putting up the best effort. Holloway’s competitors may be a little apprehensive about his choice as he considers his alternatives for his upcoming battle. The future has never looked bright for Holloway, as he can contend for the title in two divisions (featherweight and lightweight). Only time will tell what is in store for Holloway.

In case you missed it!
