Arman Tsarukyan entered the UFC in 2019 after building a strong resume on the Russian regional circuit. Despite losing his debut to Islam Makhachev in his company debut, the Armenian lightweight rebounded with key victories that established him as a title contender.
However, disciplinary issues have affected his reliability. Tsarukyan recently pointed to three such incidents he believes may have influenced CEO Dana White’s view of him. For context, the UFC 324 main event crowned Justin Gaethje as the new interim lightweight champion after his victory over Paddy Pimblett.
Entering the event, many expected Tsarukyan to be involved due to his long-standing position as the division’s former #1-ranked contender. Instead, he was not booked for the title bout. However, the Armenian was in attendance at the T-Mobile Arena, watching and cheering as Gaethje defeated Pimblett.
Following his exclusion from the interim title fight, Tsarukyan has embarked on a public relations push. He has collaborated with streamers and online influencers, presenting a more approachable public image with this shift, highlighting a more wholesome side of his personality. In addition, the Armenian star was recently seen discussing the circumstances of his title snub with UFC legend Daniel Cormier.
I think this was the first Paramount event so that’s why they were a little scared to put me there. Because I pulled out once in my life (UFC 311)…and the second one headbutt (Dan Hooker), third one is that I punched the fan. I gotta meet and talk with them.

UFC 311 was positioned as a chance for Tsarukyan to win the lightweight title and avenge his debut loss to Islam Makhachev. Days before the event, he was seen doing stunts with influencer and journalist Nina Marie Daniele. He was later ruled out with a back injury believed to be linked to those activities. The incident reportedly angered UFC leadership, with White saying Tsarukyan must earn his way back.
Tsarukyan also faced a nine-month suspension after punching a fan during his walkout before his fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 300. The Nevada State Athletic Commission issued the suspension along with a $25,000 fine. He later returned to UFC Qatar following the ban and the UFC 311 pullout.
During the buildup against Dan Hooker, he again drew attention by headbutting Hooker during their faceoff. White recently confirmed that the headbutt incident was a factor in Arman Tsarukyan being passed over for a title opportunity.
Dan Hooker also recently revealed that the clash broke his nose heading into the fight. The episode added to concerns surrounding the Armenian star’s conduct. However, Tsarukyan has since apologized for his actions and stated his intention to avoid similar behavior in the future.
Arman Tsarukyan reveals how a Dagestani family helped him during his early struggles
Arman Tsarukyan is undoubtedly one of the wealthiest fighters in the UFC. He is frequently seen traveling in luxury supercars and private jets, highlighting his high-profile lifestyle. The Armenian contender also dines at some of the world’s most expensive restaurants. In addition, he owns scenic properties in multiple countries, reflecting both his success and global presence.

The majority of Tsarukyan’s financial wealth stems from his father, Nairi Tsarukyan, an Armenian business tycoon and owner of a construction company. Nairi’s net worth is estimated at nearly $100 million, providing a foundation for the family’s luxurious lifestyle.
Despite this, Tsarukyan has recently shared stories from his early life when his family was far less financially stable.
From the time I was 3 to 7 years old, it was very hard. We slept in the car because we didn’t have a house. Then a Dagestani man said, ‘You can come and live with us – don’t pay any money.’ We stayed with them for one year until we built our house.

The contrast between hardship and wealth was recently highlighted by the lightweight contender’s elder brother, Artur Tsarukyan. He spoke about growing up in a turbulent neighborhood, where stability was scarce. Their father’s work in business and construction helped elevate the family’s circumstances. Arman Tsarukyan’s current success and lifestyle reflect both that foundation and his own achievements.
