Makhachev fought Tsarukyan back in 2019, in which the Dagestani earned a unanimous decision win. However, Tsarukyan believed he was not the same fighter anymore, and the result would swing in his favor next time. Both fighters have a similar fighting style and the fight could have some of the best grappling sequences when it happens.
