Liverpool manager Arne Slot brushed aside rumors claiming that his players are ‘nervous’, while they lead the race to the Premier league title this season. The Dutchman insisted that his players are not exhausted, despite having arrived mid-way through the season.
The Reds claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Wolves earlier this week. The match endured a nail-biting finish, as Matheus Cunha scored in the last 25 minutes. It interestingly marked the sixth time in the Premier League this season, where Liverpool won by the margin of a single goal. The club still leads the EPL table with 60 points from 25 matches, seven points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.
However, the Reds have been struggling to keep pace in recent days. They most recently, lost to PSV in the UCL and Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup. Despite the squad featuring names like Virgil van Dijk, Alisson and Mohamed Salah, they have been inconsistent. Moreover, there have been claims of the season getting on the ‘nerves’ of the Liverpool players.

Rejecting those claims, Reds’ boss Arne Slot confirmed that his side is ready to deal with the pressure and have the experience to do so. The Dutch manager, who has roughly spent just seven months in-charge of the club, added that the senior players in the squad are used to playing big matches. Moreover, Slot added that the Liverpool bench has also stepped up, whenever needed this season.
A lot of people talk about nerves at this stage of the season. Not me... think it always helps if you have experienced it already, that’s not only me but also for the players.

All of this conversation comes ahead of Liverpool’s crucial EPL encounters against Aston Villa and Manchester City. It will be followed by the Carabao Cup final, where they take on Newcastle United, hoping to win their first trophy this season.
Arne Slot provides tactical insight on Marcus Rashford’s loan move to Aston Villa
Liverpool manager Arne Slot commended Aston Villa forward Marcus Rashford, stating that he would be a ‘hit’ for the club this season. The 27-year-old Englishman joined on Villa on a six-month long loan deal, after falling out of favor at Manchester United.

Ahead of Liverpool’s match against Villa, Arne Slot claimed that his side would be up against a rejuvenated Marcus Rashford. Slot noted Rashford’s brilliance, while remembering the first time he faced the forward. The Dutchman highlighted Rashford’s pace and skills, and predicted that he would shine in the coming months.
He has a nice height and he’s comfortable on the ball. I think he’s a very good player… I will be completely surprised if a player of that quality doesn’t show that in the upcoming months.

Moreover, the 27-year-old forward has impressed fans, after joining Aston Villa at the end of January. Rashford was crucial in the club’s 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town this weekend. His 69th minute free-kick, saved by the goalkeeper, was subsequently slotted in by Ollie Watkins.
