Arsenal forward Kai Havertz suffered a worrying hamstring injury at a training camp in Dubai. This has plunged the club into a deepening injury crisis. The 25-year-old forward is expected to miss the reminder of the season due to the recent setback.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta‘s decision to not sign a new forward, despite the team’s lack of sharpness in front of the goal has backfired. The Spaniard’s plans for the rest of the season have derailed after club forward Kai Havertz suffered a season-ending injury.
The German forward returned to London with the rest of the squad. Havertz is now being assessed in order to speed up the recovery process. In his absence, Mikel Arteta will now be left with only three first-team attackers, including Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling and youngster Ethan Nwaneri, for most of the ongoing season. Havertz is the club’s top scorer this season, with 15 goals in 34 appearances.

Meanwhile, four of the team’s top-scorers are now out with injury. Club number nine Gabriel Jesus has already been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury, while Gabriel Martinelli is set to miss out on a month of action. Bukayo Saka is also out with a hamstring injury. However, the Englishman is expected to return soon after having recently taken part in the club’s Dubai training camp.

Nonetheless, the Gunners would have to navigate the rest of the season without the services of a center-forward. They currently remain second on the EPL table, seven points behind leaders Liverpool. Arsenal have also made it into the UCL last-16. It remains to be seen what else the season holds for them.
Arsenal consider unlikely replacements for injured Kai Havertz
Having suffered a massive setback following Kai Havertz’s season-ending injury, Arsenal is now looking for ways to replace their star forward. Havertz has been the club’s top-scorer this season, with 15 goals and four assists to his name.

The German forward joins four other attackers in a crowded treatment room. As the club opted not to sign a forward in January, they are now left with only three fit attackers. One option for the Gunners could be to dive into the free agent market. Ex-Chelsea forward Diego Costa, ex-Arsenal players Carlos Vela and Lucas Perez, and ex-Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz have emerged as options.
However, the probability of the club signing a free agent until the end of the season remains low. It would also help Arsenal prepare a deal to sign their primary summer transfer target Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins.
