Arsenal star Jorginho surprisingly claimed that the club is not afraid of Manchester City front-man Erling Haaland’s blistering form this season, ahead of their big clash next week. The Italian added to his claims by stating that the Arsenal players often joked about his form. 

Erling Haaland has been impressive this season, scoring nine goals in just four matches, including two hat-tricks, against Ipswich Town and West Ham. The Norwegian forward looks all set to claim the EPL Golden Boot this season as well, after having won it two seasons in a row. His recent goal-scoring form, averaging 2.25 goals per game, has been a worry for rival teams. Arsenal, however, remain unfazed by the 24-year-old’s frightening statistics this season.

Speaking on Haaland’s recent form, Jorginho surprisingly stated that the Gunners are unaffected by his goal-scoring prowess. He also went on to state that the Arsenal players shared a laugh whenever they saw Haaland score a goal. The Italian star went on to admit that the team watches each and every match in the league, and no certain player or team scares them. Moreover, he pointed out at the club’s winning mentality, with the ambition of winning the EPL title.

His comments come ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Italy, to play against Serie A giants Atalanta in the UCL opener. Following this, the club would travel to the Etihad to face Manchester City next weekend, which would be a pivotal match in the PL title race.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho opens up about his transfer to the club from Chelsea

Former Chelsea star Jorginho opened up about his transfer to Arsenal in 2022, after a successful stint at Stamford Bridge. The 32-year-old veteran midfielder has made more than 250 appearances in England, scoring 30 goals.

After a stellar spell with the Blues, winning the UCL and the EPL once, he admitted that he arrived at North London after agreeing on Mikel Arteta’s proposal without any hesitation. Moreover, he stated that he had already sensed that his time at Chelsea was coming to an end. He highlighted Arsenal’s playing technique under Arteta, which he felt suited his needs.

It happened really quick. I saw that my time at Chelsea was basically finished... When I had the call, I didn't think twice because I knew that Mikel [Arteta] tried to sign me before and it didn't happen.

Since Jorginho’s signing, Arsenal have turned into title challengers, with him making 52 appearances over the past two seasons. He is set to replace Martin Odegaard in the lineup for Arsenal’s upcoming matches, owing to the Norwegian’s recent injury.
