Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka might remain out for an extended period after sustaining a hamstring injury during the club’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace in the EPL. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta confirmed the severity of the injury, while also providing details on his recovery timeline.
Bukayo Saka started the match against Crystal Palace on a positive note, as he was instrumental in the buildup to Gabriel Jesus’ opening goal in the 6th minute. While attempting to deliver a cross in the 24th minute, Saka, however, pulled up. He fell to the ground, holding his right leg in pain, as he was attended by the medical staff.
Unable to continue, he limped off the pitch before being replaced by Leandro Trossard. Fans have been left worried as the 23-year-old was later spotted leaving Selhurst Park in crutches.
Preliminary reports suggest that the Englishman might remain out for a few weeks, a major setback for the Gunners during the busy season. He has suffered a serious hamstring injury in his right leg.
Speaking in a press conference, manager Mikel Arteta stated that Saka is not in a great condition and confirmed that he might remain out for a substantial period of time. He also acknowledged the significant impact of losing his star player. Saka has been crucial for the club with five goals and ten assists this season.

Meanwhile, for the 23-year-old, it is the third time this season that he has suffered a hamstring issue. He had previously missed matches for both club and country, due to similar problems. Arteta’s selection worries have increased with Raheem Sterling also being ruled out due to a training injury.
Mikel Arteta reveals Arsenal’s January transfer plan amid injury crisis
Arsenal are currently facing a severe injury crisis, with several players including Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu out. The club might look for solutions to cope with the issue during the upcoming January transfer window.
With Bukayo Saka ruled out for ‘many’ weeks, the Gunners would have to find an alternative in the right-wing. Manager Mikel Arteta stated that he would look for ‘internal’ options for solutions. However, he later added that he might take an opportunity to sign someone if needed. He added that the team has plenty of resources and would like to use it competitively.
It remains to be seen who the Gunners target during the winter transfer window. They were previously linked with Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic. However, Gabriel Jesus’ recent return to form, scoring five goals in the last two matches, have silenced those rumors.
