Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey were reportedly the targets for Arsenal in the summer transfer window. Having got the latter, they made the former their target for the winter window. However an alternative was identified with RB Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai being targeted. Now that the attacking midfielder has moved to RB Leipzig, Arsenal need to go for different players now.
There is a need for a creative midfielder at Arsenal Football Club
Up until this season it was Mesut Ozil who was fulfilling this role, but he has been frozen out of the squad for ‘footballing reasons’. It can however be stated that he has been taken out of the club because of his criticism of China for their treatment of Uiyghur Muslims. China is a source of great revenue for anything in this world. Be it movies or club revenue, China is a major contributor for it.
Arsenal haven’t found a creative replacement for Mesut Ozil and players like Dani Ceballos, Willian and Nicholas Pepe have failed to bring anything to the club. As a result Arsenal have only scored 5 goals in five matches of which three goals were scored in a single match.
Matches like Chelsea cannot be played forever and Arsenal have to find a way to be consistent. Reports have arisen that Arsenal has shifted their attention to Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt. Julian Brandt is a German attacking midfielder and is known for his assists. He was signed by Borussia Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen for this very reason. In his debut season he scored 7 goals and got 13 assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

However he hasn’t fired this season as he only has 1 goal and 1 assist across 22 games in all competitions. There’s a lot of competition for him in Borussia Dortmund and he could fancy a move to Arsenal where he will be an automatic starter. It remains to be seen if these rumours come true in the month of January.
