Former Arsenal legend Robert Pires, while making a comparison between Bukayo Saka and Jeremy Doku, surprisingly chose the latter as a better player. Arsenal fans took to social media to criticize the club legend on his opinion.
Bukayo Saka and Jeremy Doku have been two of the Premier League’s best wingers, having led the line for Arsenal and Manchester City, respectively. Saka has made a sharp rise over the last few years, with both club and country. The 23-year-old has scored a goal and assisted thrice this season. Belgian star Doku, on the other hand, has shown flashes of quality since making a big-money move from Rennes last summer but is yet to live up to expectations.
Arsenal legend Robert Pires however, held a different opinion, as he tipped Doku to be a better and more complete winger than Saka. The Frenchman stated that Saka lacks consistency and experience, and has failed to show up in big matches. He, however, backed the Arsenal man to improve this season.
Supporting his argument for Doku, Pires opined that the Man City star was better due to his technical abilities as well as his strength and dribbling.
Bukayo Saka still lacks a certain level of consistency and experience... In my opinion, Jeremy Doku is a bit better because he is technically stronger, has better dribbling skills and is more imaginative.Robert Pires said (via Wettbasis)

This did not hold well with Arsenal fans, with some stating that Pires was downplaying Saka’s abilities. The only drawback for the Englishman has been his lack of titles, with Doku having already won the Premier League in his very first season.
Bukayo Saka might captain Arsenal in the North London Derby following Martin Odegaard’s injury
Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has been ruled out for the North London derby due to an injury he sustained while playing for Norway. In his absence, young forward Bukayo Saka could be handed the captain’s armband for the crucial match against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners will face a tough choice in midfield against Tottenham, with three key players, Odegaard, Declan Rice, and Mikel Merino, ruled out due to injuries and suspension. With the skipper Odegaard ruled out, Saka has now become the obvious choice to lead the team against Spurs. Despite his young age, the 23-year-old has been a leader in the team with his performances.
Apart from the young English forward, midfielder Jorginho and centre-backs William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are the other experienced players in the squad who could be handed the armband against Tottenham.
