Neeraj Chopra recently became Olympic Champion when he won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in javelin throw, becoming the first Indian to win a track and field medal. He came home to much fanfare, as India celebrated its most successful Olympics till date.
Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem has made great strides for the country by becoming the first athlete to reach the finals of track and field. Chopra recently opened up about the interaction between the two during the finals of the Tokyo Olympics.
The Tokyo Olympics were a dream for Chopra, but not everything went smoothly or as planned for him. Just before his first throw, Neeraj was not able to find his javelin, and it turned out that Nadeem had walked away with it. Chopra was searching for his javelin when he found Nadeem walking away with it. “Bhai give this javelin to me, it is my javelin! I have to throw with it. Then he gave it back to me,” Neeraj Chopra said.
Arshad Nadeem Responds to Allegations on Taking Neeraj Chopra’s Javelin

Speaking to his correspondants, Nadeem said that all javelins were provided by Olympic management for all the players. “Actually, Javelins were provided by the Olympic committee. I was practicing with a Javelin and Neeraj came to me and said it was his Javelin so I gave him,” he shared to Ary sports.
Nadeem said he was unsure whether that particular javelin was provided by Indian management or not. Arshad said maybe it was Neeraj’s favourite javelin and that is why he wanted to throw it. Nadeem shared this statement after the Indian media started propagating against Arshad, alleging him of impairing Neeraj’s javelin.
