Arsenal won 3-0 against Newcastle at home to continue their 6 match unbeaten run. Two second half goals from Aubameyang and Saka goal in between proved enough for Arteta’s side.

Thomas Partey, returning from injury started the game and made an impact for the Gunners. Arteta took him off after 67 minutes as he wanted to ‘protect’ the midfielder after his recent injury struggles.

Really happy,’ Arteta said of Partey to Sky Sports. ‘He got better and better as the game went on.’
‘He had a big influence. He gives us things that are different to any other player.
‘Still, we have to protect him as he has missed a lot of football in the past few months, but we are really happy with his performance.’
Thomas Partey became one of the biggest buys in the summer as Arsenal triggered his release clause on deadline day.

Thomas Partey has struggled to live up to expectations after making a move from Atletico Madrid. Arteta had blamed the midfielder for his fault against Tottenham, which led to a goal for Spurs.

Arteta also praised striker Aubameyang as he broke his scoring duck. ‘I am really pleased with his performance overall,’ Arteta added.
‘That’s what he (Aubameyang) has done through his career and mentally you have to be really strong in order to do that.
‘He has come out of a difficult period. We have been missing his goals a lot.

‘Today he has come back and scored two and contributed to the team to win and this is exactly what we need. So I am really pleased for him.’
Arsenal are currently 10th in the Premier League and have 27 points from 19 games. They are 7 points off the top four and are continuing a rising trend in the table.
