Arteta says beating Chelsea ‘the best medicine’ for Arsenal

Arsenal face Chelsea on Boxing Day in a crucial fixture for Arteta’s side. They have failed to register a win in their last 8 Premier League matches.
Mikel Arteta, however believes they can turn their fortunes around and beating Chelsea would be “the best medicine” for his struggling side.
Chelsea have the strongest squad , says Arteta

Arteta has come under increasing pressure with the Gunners languishing in 15th in the Premier League table. They also crashed out of the Carabao Cup with a 4-1 quarter-final defeat at home to Manchester City on Tuesday.
“Obviously, Chelsea always have a great squad of great players,” Arteta said, praising Chelsea’s squad.
“The team that we faced a few months ago was a top one. In this moment, you’re probably talking about the strongest squad in the Premier League.”
“They’re doing a really good job, Frank (Lampard) is doing a really good job.”
The Arsenal manager, Arteta said: “At the moment, to keep the team together, to keep the team alive and to be a team, not a group of players, it takes a lot of energy because when you are losing football matches you have to lift them up, to get them together.
“You have to get them all being positive to each other, to not blame each other or any external factor when things are not going well.”

“The best medicine, better than anything than can happen outside of our facilities, is to win against Chelsea,” Arteta said
“I think the next seven to eight days are going to be crucial to see where we are going to be heading in the Premier League.” the Spaniard said.
Arsenal are currently 4 points clear of the relegation zone. They need to start winning matches if they are to finish in the top half of the table.
