In 2024, he has beaten five top-10 players. His biggest win was against world no. 2 Alexander Zverev in the Hamburg Open final. He defeated the defending champion in a thrilling match, winning 6–3, 3–6, 7–6 (1). He also won the Japan Open by beating Ugo Humbert and shocked Marin Cilic at the Paris Masters.

Fils is the youngest player in the ATP top 40 and the second-best Frenchman behind Humbert. He has had an amazing season and will aim even higher in 2025. His next goal is to win the Next Gen ATP Finals in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
