Aryna Sabalenka has established herself as one of the most dominant players on the WTA Tour, reaching world No. 1 and competing at the highest level. Alongside her on this journey is Georgios Frangulis, the Brazilian entrepreneur who founded the global superfood brand Oakberry.

He is also part of the investment group OutField, which recently bought a stake in French football club Le Mans. That venture features other big names such as Novak Djokovic, Felipe Massa, and Kevin Magnussen.

Frangulis began dating Sabalenka in April 2024, and since then he has experienced the rollercoaster of life on the professional tennis circuit. Being close to the action has given him a unique perspective, but it has also come with challenges. He has admitted that supporting a top athlete during emotionally charged matches can be demanding. Frangulis said on Clay Tennis:

Novak has always been my idol, long before we became friends. I’ve always admired him for his achievements. When the opportunity to invest in Le Mans arose, I brought in investors who made a lot of sense. Since we’re talking about sports investing, I’d say Novak is the GOAT in terms of mindset and athletic acumen. He was immediately drawn to the project. It was a no-brainer…I love being around Novak and learning from him.

This year Sabalenka has endured several painful losses. She was defeated by Madison Keys in the Australian Open final, let an early lead slip in the French Open final against Coco Gauff, and later fell in the Wimbledon semi-final to Amanda Anisimova. Each setback tested her resolve, but Frangulis’ presence has helped her manage the pressure and disappointment.

Despite the tough moments, their relationship continues to grow stronger. Frangulis’ ability to stay composed and keep Sabalenka calm has been an important factor in her ability to refocus after setbacks. Together, they balance the demands of elite sport and global business, making their partnership stand out both on and off the court.

Novak Djokovic’s US Open Quarterfinal Record

Taylor Fritz is the last American remaining in the 2025 US Open men’s singles draw. The world No. 4, who finished runner-up in New York last year, now faces a huge challenge in the quarter-finals. Standing in his way is seventh seed Novak Djokovic, one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.

Djokovic’s form has been under scrutiny throughout 2025, with questions over his fitness and hunger. At the US Open he struggled in the early rounds, but his straight-sets win over Jan-Lennard Struff in the fourth round suggested he is finding momentum. For Fritz, the task could not be tougher. He has played the Serbian 10 times and lost every encounter.

The 38-year-old has also built an extraordinary record at Flushing Meadows. This is his 14th US Open quarter-final, a figure only Jimmy Connors has bettered in the Open Era. More significantly, Djokovic has never lost at this stage in New York. On each of his 13 previous appearances in the last eight, he has advanced to at least the semi-finals.

His dominance stretches back to 2007, when he beat Carlos Moya to reach his first major final. He then strung together 10 consecutive US Open quarter-final wins and added another in 2018 after missing the 2017 edition. Most recently, he defeated Fritz in the 2023 quarter-finals en route to claiming his 24th Grand Slam title.

Novak Djokovic speaks to Clippers star after unfortunate injury

Bogdan Bogdanovic’s torn hamstring came at the worst possible moment for both him and the Serbian national team. The injury forced him out of EuroBasket and also cast doubt on whether he will be ready for the start of the NBA season. Doctors confirmed that he will need intensive treatment in the United States to speed up his recovery.

The setback happened late in the second quarter of Serbia’s group stage clash with Portugal. Bogdanovic pulled up after a drive to the basket and immediately clutched his hamstring. His absence is a blow for Serbia, as he is one of their most experienced and reliable scorers.

Despite the disappointment, Bogdanovic received encouragement from one of Serbia’s biggest sporting icons. Novak Djokovic, currently competing at the US Open, reached out to offer support and share advice on dealing with injuries. The message of solidarity was a timely boost as Bogdanovic begins his rehab process.

Even without their star guard, Serbia continues to impress on the EuroBasket stage. They extended their perfect group record to 34-0 with an 82-60 victory over the Czech Republic. The team stormed to a 27-5 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back, proving they remain strong contenders for the championship.
