Aryna Sabalenka loves posting trends on her social media accounts. But before sharing those videos, they require some editing, and Sabalenka did admit she used to do it herself.

Sabalenka is in Stuttgart for the first clay-court WTA 500 event of the season. She was scheduled to lock horns with Anastasia Potapova, but the latter withdrew from the tournament following her first-round victory over Clara Tauson. Ahead of her opening round match, Sabalenka talked about her love for sharing photos and videos of her life on social media.

YouTube video

Obviously, I take all the photos and videos myself. I just have a team that helps put everything together just so I don’t spend so many hours, because before, maybe a year or a little more than that, I used to edit videos myself, and it takes a lot of time. I just didn’t want to keep doing that. I prefer the world of fashion to being an influencer, but I think these two worlds overlap.

Sabalenka, as she moved into the quarterfinals without playing a match, will kick start her campaign against Elise Mertens or Diana Shnaider. The Belarusian has never met her compatriot on the tour before, but against her former doubles partner, she holds an 8-2 head-to-head record.

Aryna Sabalenka is a three-time Stuttgart Open finalist. In 2021, Ash Barty came from a set down to beat the 26-year-old. Then in the next two years, Sabalenka was denied the title by World No.2 Iga Swiatek, as she won both the finals in straight sets.

I lost three finals against the World No.1 in the world. I had to do it again, to come back here as the number 1 in the world. Maybe that’s the deal. Of course, I have that in mind. They were three tough matches, and I will keep them in mind as motivation. If I reach the final, I will be more hungry than ever and more focused than ever.

Sabalenka is projected to meet World No.4 Coco Gauff in the semifinals. In the final, she could once again lock horns with five-time Grand Slam champion Swiatek, who will enter the tournament to chase her first title since winning last year’s French Open.

On the WTA Tour so far in the season, Sabalenka has reached the most finals. She kick-started her 2025 campaign at the Brisbane International, making an emphatic start to the season by winning the tournament Down Under.

Sabalenka, however, was denied the historic three-peat at the Australian Open by Madison Keys, who took home her career’s first Grand Slam title. The Australian Open heartbreak affected her performance in the Middle East Swing as she fell in her first match in Doha and in her second match in Dubai.

Sabalenka finally moved on from the defeat and produced strong performances in the two Sunshine Double tournaments, reaching finals at Indian Wells and the Miami Open. She was searching for her first WTA 1000 singles trophy in the United States.

In the California desert, Mirra Andreeva came from a set down to upset the three-time Grand Slam singles champion. But in Miami, the final concluded in her favor, as she outclassed home favorite Jessica Pegula in straight sets.

Sabalenka comfortably sits on top of the rankings table with 10,541 points. She is more than 3000 points ahead of Iga Swiatek, who lost her No.1 rankings last year due to the doping controversy.
