Almost every member of Aryna Sabalenka‘s team now sports her famous tiger tattoo, even if it was on a temporary basis. It is the same tattoo that is on the Belarusian’s forehand. Sabalenka and the team have come up with a tradition of doing something fun at every Grand Slam tournament. At the 2024 US Open, it turned out to be the temporary tiger tattoos.

The World No. 2 considers her team members as good luck charms and they respond with the same enthusiasm, going to a never-imagined extent. An example of this was seen after her win in New York on Saturday (September 7).

The Belarusian, when asked about the reason behind Stacy sporting a tiger tattoo on his forehead, explained that it was a tradition that her team had started following. She did, jokingly, wish that Stacy had the tattoo placed on his forehead instead.

It's permanent. No, but honestly, I forgot about that, but I think in Washington there is one girl, she's my fan, she's supporting me and she always come up with some cool stuff related to my name. She brought these temporary tattoos, and Jason promised me that if I make it to the finals he's gonna make it, he's gonna put it on his forehead. I wish it would be a little bit lower, like right here would be cooler, right?
Aryna Sabalenka said in her post-match press conference

This tradition of sporting temporary tattoos was an extension of Sabaleka signing Stacy’s head after winning her second Australian Open title.

However, Sabalenka has now directed her team to come up with something new at every Grand Slam tournament. She said that she now expected her head coach Anton Durov to come with “something fun” like “pink or purple hair” next.

The Belarusian seems to enjoy a special bond with her fitness coach Jason Stacy. While he sported the tiger tattoo on his forehead for her, the duo was seen grooving together in the locker room after the Belarusian’s win.

With the win in New York, Sabalenka became the first player to win both hard court Majors in the same season since Angelique Kerber in 2016. She is only the fifth woman in the Open Era to do so, after Kerber, Stefanie Graf (1988, 1989), Monica Seles (1991, 1992), and Martina Hingis (1997).
