World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka has been in good form since the clay season began. Apart from the Stuttgart Open, she finished as a runner-up in Madrid and is now in another final. However, she is now set to face her biggest rival, Iga Swiatek, in final and believes she will earn her mch-awaited revenge over the Polish star.

Sabalenka confirmed her place in the final of the Italian Open after beating American Danielle Collins in the semifinals of the top-tier clay tournament.

Collins was hoping to earn her first win against the Belarusian after losing to her in Rome two weeks ago. But she fell to a disappointing 7-5, 6-2 loss in one hour and twenty-three minutes.

However, before Sabalenka wins her second title of the season, she will have to beat an in-form Swiatek in Rome. The World No. 1 has lost only one match since the clay season began and defeated the 26-year-old Belarusian in the final of the Madrid Open. 

The two WTA beauties have faced each other ten times, with Swiatek leading 7:3 in the overall head-to-head. Aryna Sabalenka revealed during her on-court interview after beating Collins that she loves playing against Swiatek but will love to earn her fourth win and revenge for her Madrid Open final loss two weeks ago.

Definitely. I really like our tough battles. It’s always close matches. I really enjoy playing against her. It’s always high level tennis. Hopefully we bring our best tennis and you guys enjoy watching us play and hopefully this time I’m gonna get this title with your support guys.

Meanwhile, this is Sabalenka’s first final in Rome, while Swiatek is a two-time champion. Notably, the Polish tennis professional remains the favorite to clinch the title, and if she does so, she will become the first woman since Serena Williams in 2013 to win the Madrid and Rome Opens.

Aryna Sabalenka has revealed new tactics ahead of her match against Iga Swiatek in the final of the Rome Masters. The Belarusian won three match points when they met at the Madrid Open but still lost at the end.

She has only one tournament final against the Polish star, which she earned at the 2023 Madrid Open final. However, she has lost on three occasions: against Swiatek in the final, twice in the Stuttgart Open, and recently in Madrid.
