Aryna Sabalenka is staying positive before Indian Wells, even though her recent form is not great. The Belarusian is hoping to improve her game in the tournament.

I think Ons Jabeur is very funny. I have to say that Grigor Dimitrov is also very funny. I don’t know what it is. We all have these kind of funny personalities, so it’s hard to choose just one person.

Earlier this year, Sabalenka won the Brisbane International. That title was a good start to her 2025 season. Sabalenka might face Coco Gauff in the semi-finals and Iga Swiatek in the final.

Late Monday afternoon, the stadium court at the BNP Paribas Open was mostly covered in shadows. Aryna Sabalenka’s loud and sharp exhales echoed around the court. They were too intense to be called simple grunts. Only a few people were watching, apart from her team.

Sabalenka hit powerful shots from the baseline. She was trying to adjust to the strong, gusty wind. By the end of her practice, she was getting better at finding her range.

The World No. 1 started her season with 11 wins in a row. Now, she is hoping to build some confidence at Indian Wells. She won the title in Brisbane and reached the Australian Open final. However, she has lost three of her last four matches.

Her most painful loss was in Melbourne. Sabalenka was aiming for her third title in a row but lost in three sets to Madison Keys. After that, she was defeated by Ekaterina Alexandrova in Doha and Clara Tauson in Dubai.
