As the regular season of the FBS comes to an end, fans have seen the last of Heisman candidates Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty. Fortunately for the latter, he has one more game left to play and an opportunity to extend the season as Boise State’s 11-1 record puts them in an ideal position to make the College Football Playoffs.
It has been a phenomenal year for running back Ashton Jeanty who sits at 2,288 yards on 312 carries and 28 touchdowns. His feat, albeit impressive, would have been hard to accomplish if not for his offensive line. To show them how much he values them, the running back took his squad out for a good meal earlier this week.
The Heisman-favorite took the big men out for a dinner ahead of Boise State’s Mountain Water Championship game. The running back had a candid response to a reporter asking him about how he thanked his linemen for helping him come this far this season.
We took a little trip down to Barbacoa…it was a good time just to show appreciation for them. You don’t get 2,000 rushing yards by yourself. They did a great job all year blocking for me and opening up holes. I couldn’t do it without them. (I) just really appreciate them so, I didn’t appreciate how much the bill was but you know; it was a good time.

Fans are strongly vouching for Ashton Jeanty to win the Heisman after his laudable gesture
The Boise State Broncos RB has a chance to make history as his team goes up against UNLV in the Mountain West Championship game. The race to win the Heisman trophy is neck and neck between him and Travis Hunter.

If the Broncos win the MWC game, the team will get a top 4 seed in the college football playoffs. That would mean they get a first-round bye. If they lose that game, then the team will drop to the 10th or 12th position.
With Jeanty just 340 yards shy of breaking Barry Sanders‘ all-time rushing record (2,628 yards), the running back has a good shot at cementing his legacy and further bolstering his draft stock. The record was set in 1988, but it has never looked this achievable.
