The Olympic Council of Asia has revealed all the esports titles for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, that will take place in September 2022, making it the first medallion event where esports will be played as medal events in the Asian Games. The Games are recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and are described as the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games The Olympic Council of Asia has just announced the titles for the debut of esports at the 19th Asian Games.

Esports is referred to competitive video games where gaming pros compete as teams. The reason for this debate is whether Esports is a form of sport or not. But there is good news for fans of Esports. The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) has declared that esports will be included in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China as an official medal sport.

This is truely a great accomplishment for the Esports and gaming as a whole. The event will commence on September 10, 2022, and will carry on until September 25, 2022. Till now a total 8 official events in esports, with two demonstration events ared confirmed. The eight official events are as follows:

  • Dream Three Kingdoms 2
  • EA SPORTS FIFA branded soccer games
  • HearthStone
  • League of Legends
  • PUBG Mobile Asian Games Version
  • Street Fighter V

The 2 demonstration events are:

  1. AESF Robot Masters-Powered by Migu
  2. AESF VR Sports-Powered by Migu

The Asian Games will mark the second time esports are being played as medal events in a multi-sport competition sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee.
