Astana Open: John Millman defeats Adrian Mannarino to lift his maiden ATP Title
John Millman finally won his first ATP Title almost 14 years after turning a pro. The Australian eased past Adrian Mannarino in straight sets in the final of the Astana Open 2020. Millman had an incredible tournament as he got through some difficult three set matches against Frances Tiafoe and Tommy Paul.
John Millman won the final against Mannarino with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-1. The Australian made most of his break point opportunities as he converted 3/6 break points. Conversely, Mannarino could not convert any of his 6 break point opportunities which cost him the match.

John Millman earned a straight sets victory over Mannarino in the finals of the Nur Sultan 2020. The first set was a closely fought contest with the score being level at 5-5 and both players holding serve very well. John Millman earned a break in the 12th game of the match which opened up the match for him as he claimed the first set.
Millman had a dominating 2nd set as he broke the Frenchman 2 times en route to his victory. He just dropped a single game in the second set. However, Millman was not serving to his best capability as he won just 66% points on first serve which is lower than that of Mannarino’s 73%. He also served 2 double faults during the match but backed it by serving 3 aces compared to Mannarino’s 0 aces.

John Millman thanked his family and fans who have always supported him after he won his first ATP Title in Astana. This title came after 186 tour level matches and it has really been a long wait for the Australian. Millman now focuses his attention to the Rolex Paris Masters as he face Miomir Kecmanovic in the 1st round.
