Billy Mayers of TBR Football has reported that Aston Villa are in need of a right-back. As such, they want to bring Juan Foyth from Villarreal in the ongoing winter transfer window. The World Cup winner has shown his versatility in the La Liga club and has played in a wide variety of positions in the backline.
Diego Carlos has left the Premier League club for Fenerbahce. Hence, Villa need a centre-back as well as a right-back. Hence, Villa are targeting Foyth in this window on an urgent basis. Pau Torres will be on the sidelines due to an injury till mid-March, and Tyrone Mings has also suffered an issue after Villa’s game against West Ham United on Sunday. Therefore, Foyth remains a welcome signing for Villa.
Juan Foyth has conceded one goal and kept one clean sheet in four matches in the La Liga 2024/2025 season. That means when Foyth is on the pitch, his team conceded a goal every 181 minutes. Moreover, he’s made 1.49 tackles and 0.99 interceptions for every 90 minutes he was on the pitch. The Argentine defender is also racking up about 7.96 clearances at the same time.
The report also states that Villarreal remain ready to let Foyth leave for Villa in January. As such, Foryth can return to play under Unai Emery. The player had enjoyed playing under the manager in La Liga. Fans expect things to grow and progress in the upcoming days of the transfer window. However, the report has not cleared out the price that the Spanish club would demand to sell the defender to Villa.
