As the 2024 Winter Meetings continue to take place in Dallas, there seems to be some major development coming from the Houston Astros camp. At the meeting, General Manager Dana Brown claimed that the team will “listen” to offers for everybody including stars Kyle Tucker and Framber Valdez.
Compared to their usual high standards, the Astros had a down year in the 2024 season. Despite winning the American League West Division title again after finishing with a 88-73 record, it seemed they were struggling.
The team would go on to take on the Detroit Tigers in the Wild Card Series. They ended up losing Game 1 and Game 2 and got swept, thus suffering an early elimination from the playoffs. It was the first time since 2016 that the Astros did not appear in the American League Championship Series (ALCS).
This performance from the team raised questions regarding some roster changes. With Tucker and Valdez both in the final year of their contracts, the team is open to trading them instead of losing them for free.

While speaking regarding them, Brown claimed that the team will at least take the opportunity to listen to offers before deciding the next course of action with them.
Asked if the Astros would listen to trade offers for Kyle Tucker or Framber Valdez, GM Dana Brown replied, in part: “we’ll listen on anybody.”

Brown further expressed his confidence in the team and claimed the team could win the division title without Tucker and Valdez. “Yes I think we could,” Brown said on Monday as per reports from The Athletic.

Whats your problem Dana Brown?
Following these comments from GM Brown, the Astros have reportedly received inquiries regarding Tucker. He has been linked with a move to the New York Yankees, as the Bronx Bombers now try to fill the void left by Juan Soto. Where will these two Astros stars end up in the future, remains to be seen.
