There is a list of several stars who are injured in WWE. One such top talent on the unfortunate list is Asuka. The former Women’s Champion has been out of WWE for over two months. She sustained an injury at Backlash in France that required her to undergo surgery.
Despite her television absence, the Empress of Tomorrow is advertised for a WWE tour in Japan. WWE will be heading to the east for three consecutive dates, from July 25 to July 27. Asuka, who is unactive as of now, will most likely accompany her Damage CTRL mates, who will take on Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Meiko Satomura.
The tour is slated to start in Osaka’s Edion Arena, which will be followed by two shows in Ryogoku Arena in Tokyo. The former Raw Women’s Champion is advertised to appear in Osaka later this month. Although no clear update has come out on the status of the Japanese Superstar as of now, this uncertainty raises many questions in the minds of her fans heading to the show.
Besides Asuka, stars like Shinsuke Nakamura, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and AJ Styles are scheduled to compete in Japan. It is going to be the first WWE event in the country in five years. Regardless, fans will have to wait and see if the first-ever Royal Rumble winner will be able to get cleared for the event or not.
Asuka might return with a new character in WWE to embark on a new storyline with Damage CTRL
Asuka has been the longest reigning NXT Women’s Champion and was even the first Women’s Royal Rumble winner. However, fans have felt that the recent run of The Empress of Tomorrow has been nothing short of stale. Therefore, there is a possibility that the 42-year-old might return with a new character.
She is likely to join her Damage CTRL buddies after returning. There is a possibility that the former champion might go up against Iyo Sky to compete in a blockbuster feud. The Genius of the Sky has been teasing something new for the Damage CTRL, as she has looked frustrated with the direction of the group.
It is likely that Sky might turn on Dakota Kai and Kairi Sane. To halt the carnage of a berserk Iyo, the Empress of Tomorrow might rise once again. This feud has the potential to be an excellent turn of events. Both stars are immensely talented in the ring and can deliver on the big stage.
