There have been a number of stars who have been shelfed from in-ring competition due to injuries. One such star is Asuka, who suffered a knee injury in April that led to her taking time off due to surgery. Now, the Empress of Tomorrow has shared a heartbreaking update on her injury that puts a question mark on her WWE return.
A fan on X asked about the return of the former Women’s Champion. The latter replied to the post with a heart wrenching response. She said that she is unable to step foot in the ring because she is in the middle of treatment for her knee injury. Therefore, she is trying to entertain her fans on social media in the mean time.

This response has raised many eyebrows. Fans were expecting to see the 42-year-old soon following her appearance at WWE’s Japan tour. In fact, Asuka even inked a new deal with WWE recently. However, her latest update has certainly pushed back the timeframe of her return.
Amid the veteran’s absence, her Damage CTRL stablemates have also been suffering from misfortunes. Dakota Kai injured herself last month and has been out of WWE TV since then. Meanwhile. Kairi Sane busted herself open a few weeks ago, which caused massive concerns around her. Nonetheless, it is going to be interesting to see how things are going to transpire for Asuka once she returns.
Asuka takes a hilarious shot at Bayley amid her injury hiatus
Asuka was the most recent member to join Damage CTRL, a group created by Bayley to put over young talent. A while after the Empress of Tomorrow joined the faction, the former Women’s Champion was kicked out of the group. Now, even after more than 6 months of the betrayal, the 42-year-old doesn’t hold herself from taking a dig at The Role Model.

Taking to X, the Damage CTRL member posted a video showing a person fearing a group of a few people. The Japanese star has referred to the group as her faction, with the frightened person being Bayley. It was quite a hilarious callback to the time when the Role Model was a part of the group but used to be ridiculed by the faction.
The feud between Damage CTRL and Bayley culminated at WrestleMania XL. The latter dethroned Iyo Sky to become WWE Women’s Champion at the Show of Shows. Shortly after, the two sides were separated during the Draft, as Bayley remained on SmackDown while the faction moved to Raw.
