Asuka to face Alexa Bliss in a Championship match, on the upcoming episode of WWE Raw

Last week on Monday-night Raw, Alexa Bliss defeated Asuka in a non-title match. Asuka is the current WWE Raw Women’s Champion. A win against the Champion, has earned Bliss a shot at the WWE title.

WWE recently confirmed on their official Twitter handle. The Raw Women’s Championship is going to be on the line. Asuka has been holding the title since Becky Lynch gave it to her after her Money in the Bank win.

Bliss has not been in the title picture since she teamed up with The Fiend Bray Wyatt. But now she is looking like a formidable force to earn the title. Surprisingly, the match was announced for a Raw episode instead of Royal Rumble.

If Bliss manages to win the title, it will be her sixth singles WWE title. She last held WWE gold way back in 2018.

Can Bliss win the title?

The Raw Women’s Championship match will not be on line at WWE Royal Rumble. The reason for this being that Asuka is already booked for a potential Women’s Tag team Championship.

Asuka and Charlotte Flair, the current Champions could face Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax for the title. This could be a reason that Asuka has not been asked to put both her titles on the line.

It is a possibility that the title might even change hands on Raw. WWE has been open to changing Champions right before a PPV. Randy Orton lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre just days before Survivor Series.
