Inter Milan beat Atalanta 2-0 away from home to clinch second place in Serie A. Atalanta’s 19-game unbeaten run ended as Antonio Conte’s side managed to finish just a point shy (82) of the league winner Juventus (83).

Danilo D’Ambrosio scored the earliest goal in a Serie A match just after the kick-off. Ashley Young cross from the left to unmarked D’Ambrosio who headed it home in the very first minute of the match.

Ashley Young doubled Inter’s advantage in the 20th minute of the match. Young after dribbling cuts inside from the left to get himself into a space to thump the shot from outside the box to score past Pierluigi Gollini to make it 2-0.

Atlanta failed to break their all-time run of seven straight home game wins after the defeat to Inter. Atalanta’s last loss at home in Serie A came against SPAL as they finished third with 78 points.

Atalanta will face quarterfinal versus Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on 12th of August.
