Considered to be the next Usain Bolt, 18-year-old Erriyon Knighton set the track on fire once again, this time at the Tom Jones Invitational Event. The youngster even managed to beat Olympian and favourite Noah Lyles in the 100m event to take a grand victory.
During the American Track League meet ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Knighton registered a time of 20.11 in the 200m. This meant that he had broken Usain Bolt’s record of 20.13 that had been set all the way back in 2003. Knighton went on to prove himself, beating Lyles in the prelim and semi-final rounds of the Olympics qualification.
