“Always show relentlessness”: Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Ferdinand Omanyala take tops spot in 100m at 2022 Kip Keino Classic

The 2022 Kip Keino Classic saw three time Olympic gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce sprint to victory in the women’s 100m event at a pace of 10.67s. It was her first 100m distance race of the season.
On the men’s side, Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala won the 100m event after finishing at a blistering pace of 9.85s at the Continental Tour Gold Athletic meet. The African record holder beat the American pair of Fred Kerley and Isaih Young in what was a thrilling 100m event.
Marcell Jacobs pulls out as Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce clinches another title
The Tokyo Olympics 100m event winner, Italy’s Marcell Jacobs pulled out of the meet citing gastrointestinal problems. Omanyala, the Tokyo Olympic semi- finalist, was flawless off the blocks and held on to the lead with only Kerley managing to close in the gap for his fastest run of the season.
Kerley finished with a 9.92s ahead of Young, who finished 10.13s. Fraser-Pryce on the other hand was completely unmatched in the women’s event, taking a dominant victory with a time of 10.67s. Egypt’s Bassant Hemida finished with her personal best of 11.02s in second as America’s Shannon Ray clocked 11.33s for third.
